              Welcome to
 Lake Magdalene Elementary's
   School Counseling Program.

By way of introduction, I am Gina Jones, School Counselor, M. Ed., NBCT.   I look forward to working with your students in a variety of ways.  I provide classroom lessons about the importance of exhibiting good character, study skills, teaching tolerance and career education.  I am available for parent and/or teacher conferences about academic and family issues as the need arises.  I also meet with students individually and groups for personal, social and academic issues.  I would like to welcome the Guidance Intern, Chan Frederick.  She will be with Lake Magdalene until April, 2010.

The school counseling program supports the
mission of Lake Magdalene Elementary School,
as follows:

    Our students will become productive members of
society by developing mutual respect, self-motivation
and positive self-esteem while striving to achieve the
optimal level of academic potential.

The Guidance Program is comprehensive in that it serves students and the school community focusing on academic, career and personal/social competencies.

The Guidance Program includes, but is not limited to the following services:

* School-wide Character Education Program
* Classroom Lessons
* KICS Club (Kids in Community Service Learning Club~
                Meets after school)
* Peer Mediation
* Small Groups               
* Individual Counseling Sessions
* Problem Solving Team and Child Study Team,
  which focuses on academic concerns and student achievement.    
               
* Meetings can be scheduled upon request *
